| |
Choctawhatchee, Pea and Yellow Rivers Watershed Mgmt. Authority (CPYRWMA) |
| |
(Barbour, Bullock, Coffee, Covington, Crenshaw, Dale,
Geneva, Henry, Houston and Pike Counties) |
| |
Each year, the CPYRWMA solicits project proposals for funding consideration from the ten southeastern counties located within our watershed boundaries. The purpose is to improve the water quantity, water quality, flood control measures and education of our water resources. We encourage your participation in this program by submitting qualified project proposals for consideration by our Board of Directors. |

PART I GENERAL INFORMATION |
| |
Project Criteria |
| |
- 1. Projects will compete for acceptance based on their relative merits and on how well they achieve the goals of the CPYRWMA by addressing management elements and by an evaluation of the value of the project relative to its cost to the taxpayer. Projects will not be selected for funding based solely on a first-come, first-served basis.
- 2. Project applications must identify one or more of the primary management elements of Water Quantity, Water Quality, Flood Control, and Education which will be achieved through project implementation. All projects must be located within the Choctawhatchee, Pea and Yellow Rivers watersheds.
- 3. The project application should clearly indicate the amount of funding requested from the CPYRWMA, the total cost of the project, the sources of all funding including any in-kind work required. All co-sponsors should be identified.
| |
- 4. Projects must have a minimum of 50% local or other contributions (in-kind or dollar amount) except for projects addressing needed technical or scientific work. The cost share for highly technical or scientific work will be negotiated between the CPYRWMA and the co-sponsor and approved by the CPYRWMA Board.
- 5. Project proposals
should be submitted in the format developed by the
CPYRWMA. Forms may be accessed on the agency’s
website: Watershed Management Project Proposal Form. Notices will be
sent to all ten counties in the watersheds.
- 6. Projects which do not clearly meet the requirements as set out in Paragraphs 1 and 2 above will not be considered for funding.
| |
- 7. Project selections will be made by the Project Committee and the Board of Directors of the CPYRWMA.
| |
- 8. Funded projects, when applicable, must be maintained as specified in the Project Application form and in the Project Proposal form. Failure to maintain applicable projects could result in the repayment of all project funds by the applicant to the CPYRWMA.
